Founded in 1976 in Minami-Senri, this popular boulangerie with a long line of customers has nine stores in the Hanshin and Hokusetsu areas, making its first appearance in Osaka City. The secret of its popularity is the wide variety of freshly baked bread that is prepared early in the morning and baked until late in the evening at each store. The bakery has a great reputation for offering freshly baked bread at any time of the day, and offers more than 100 varieties of breads, from meals to sweets. The store’s signature breads, such as melt-in-your-mouth custard-filled cream buns and crispy melon buns with coconut kneaded into the surface, can be enjoyed inside the store or on the terrace. The most popular item is the Curry Bread, which sells a total of more than 800 units a day on some days. The sweet dough that enhances the spices is combined with a vegetable-infused roux and a beef filling that is cooked separately to preserve the texture. Breaded with homemade baguette crumbs and deep-fried, the zingy texture is a nice accent to whet the appetite.
