CONCEPT Concept
The Naniwanomiya Palace is
not only a heritage
left by the ancient people,
but also a valuable open space
that has been preserved
at the initiative of its citizens
since the 1950s.
We pass on its history to future
generations and we position this place
as the "Niwa" of the city.
We hope this place will be
a relaxing spot
in neighborhood community.
By maximizing appeal of this place,
we will bring residents opportunities
to meet together
and to grow their sense of civic pride.
Commercial FacilityWhat is "nanoniwa"?
The Origin of the Name
We put many feelings
into the letter “Na” of Naniwa,
such as “soothing”, “fitting in”, “everyone”, and “somewhat pleasant”.
We named the facility “nanoniwa”
in the hope that
the historic Naniwanomiya ruins
will be opened to the public and
become a facility in the “niwa”,
which means a garden,
where many people will gather.
The Concept of the Logo
The symbol mark is based on the motif of the high-floor structure of the main inner palace of the Late Naniwa Palace, which is scheduled to be restored as part of the project, and symbolically features the “na,” which has various meanings in the name. The “nanoniwa” logotype, designed in lower-case English letters, has a rounded and rhythmic feel, expressing the budding and lush growth of the lawn, and the comfort and joy of spending time on the grass. By combining the hiragana symbol with the English logotype, the logo conveys both the appeal of the center as a place where international cultures mix and a sense of familiarity with the region. It also emphasizes its familiarity, uniqueness, and international appeal, as well as its unique character as a historical park and urban park adjacent to multiple tourist attractions. In addition, the green color of the grass plaza is complemented by black to create the image of a park in the city. We hope that the design will convey this attraction to many people and be loved for a long time.
